Ecosphere Special Issue

We invite contributors to Isoscapes 2011 to participate in a special issue of the Ecological Society of America's new journal Ecosphere on:

Isoscapes in ecology: Integrating across scales with the isotopic record

With support from the editor-in-chief, we are excited by the potential to showcase isoscapes research in this new, high-impact journal. Ecosphere is an online, open-access journal and a prominent outlet for your work. From the Ecosphere website (http://www.esajournals.org/loi/ecsp):

"The scope of Ecosphere is as broad as the science of ecology itself…the journal's goal is to provide a rapid-publication, online-only, open-access alternative to ESA's other journals, while maintaining the rigorous standards of peer review for which ESA publications are renowned."

The deadline for expression of interest in the special issue has passed and manuscripts are currently being submitted and reviewed. Please contact Jason West (jbwest@tamu.edu) with questions about the special issue.

IsoMAP: WebGIS for Isotopes

IsoMAP is a dynamic, online workspace for spatial analysis, modeling and prediction of stable isotope ratio variation in the natural environment. The initial realease of the IsoMAP gateway is now live and supports precipitation isotope ratio modeling and geographic assignment using H and O isotopes. Visit IsoMAP to learn more or to start making isoscapes today!
